Begin with the end in mind

Begin with the end in mind. That is — before beginning a task, help your child create a mental (or visual) picture of where he wants to end up. When your child understands his intended destination, outcome, or finished product, it makes it easier to break down the steps necessary to get there. When he knows the steps to take, the process feels less overwhelming and more manageable. And, with the “end” in mind and a plan in place, your child will feel more confident and prepared to get started!
