World Cup soccer and executive function

Last night’s Women’s World Cup victory for the United States was inspirational. These talented women set a goal many months (years!) ago and developed plans to achieve it — a wonderful lesson for students of all ages. Glory doesn’t happen by accident. It requires planning, initiation, hard work (often teamwork), organization, flexibility, and follow-through. One might say it takes the entire range of executive function skills! Congratulations to the United States Women’s National Team — an amazing accomplishment and a lesson for us all! #USWNT
