Make a “preview” visit to a new school

Starting the year in a new school can be overwhelming, especially for a student who doesn’t embrace change easily. A great way to help ensure a smooth(er) transition is to plan a “preview” visit to your child’s new school. Check with the teacher/administration first, and then aim to locate your child’s classroom(s), locker, the cafeteria, and even the bathrooms. By turning the “unknown” into a “known,” you will help your child feel more confident and prepared as he begins the new school year.
