Tip of the Week
Avoid the sleep-scroll-repeat cycle
The school year is winding down, and everyone is looking forward to a well-deserved break from the daily grind. With camps, vacations, and other summer plans likely already in place, now is the time to think about how students will maintain some structure during those downtime days and weeks.
When students lose all structure, it’s easy to fall into a cycle of sleeping late, scrolling endlessly, gaming for hours, and wondering where the day went.
The goal is simply to keep a few anchors in place: a regular wake-up time, a responsibility or two, some movement, something productive, and something fun.
Think about it now:
- What will a typical day look like?
- What responsibilities will stay in place?
- What activities, goals, or interests will fill their time?
- How will they balance downtime with something productive?
A little planning now can help create a summer that feels both relaxing and purposeful and prevent the daily “What should I do today?” conversation before it starts.
