Be the tortoise

The Boston Marathon is finally back on Patriot’s Day here in MA. Every running of the marathon is a reminder of the hard work and perseverance it takes to achieve our goals. Training for and running a marathon is not easy! As students head toward May and the end of the school year, it may feel like a sprint to the finish. Here’s a reminder that building good executive function skills and habits takes the effort of running a marathon. While there’s a lot of work to get done between now and June, remind your student not to forgo the processes and routines they’ve been developing this year. When the pressure is on, fight the urge to sprint through just to get the work done quickly. Maintaining and solidifying processes and routines will get them to the finish line having done their best work.
