Tip of the Week
Busy schedules don’t cause stress
Spring fills up fast. Between sports practices and games, dance rehearsals, recitals, theater tech weeks, concerts, and tournaments, calendars can tip from “full” to “overwhelming” quickly.
The activities aren’t the problem. Busy schedules don’t inherently cause stress. Poor planning around busy schedules does.
Here’s how you can help your child manage it all:
Map activities first in a calendar.
Plug in every practice, game, rehearsal, and event before planning homework. You need to see the windows that are actually available.
Find real homework windows.
Not every night is equal. Plan around energy and availability.
Protect sleep.
A tired brain can’t manage a busy week well.
Start weekend work early.
If the weekend is packed, Thursday is the new Sunday—at least to make a plan for how the work will get done.
Spring should feel full, not frantic.
