Choice = Voice

Choice is empowering. When a student makes the decision about how they are going to approach a certain task or assignment, they’re taking ownership of the process and are more invested in making it successful. There’s rarely just one way to solve a problem. The key is in finding each student’s best and most efficient way. So when your child is faced with a challenging task or assignment, brainstorm multiple ways of approaching it and then let them choose the path forward. When they feel that they are in command, they will be more invested and their self-confidence will begin to grow.
