Game ON!

The start-of-school honeymoon is over and your child’s workload and demands on their time are increasing. If your child begins to falter, it’s more likely than not that an executive function challenge is at play. And when executive function is the culprit, the challenge is not in your child’s ability to understand the content. Rather, it’s about their difficulty in accessing, approaching and managing the content. Once you identify the root challenge (planning, time management, task initiation, organization, follow-through, etc.) then you can problem-solve accordingly. It may be as simple as helping them map out a study plan, break down a long-term assignment, plan and manage their time better, or get started on a research project.
