“How can I explain Jaylen [Brown],” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said. “The guy just has a growth mindset. He just wants to get better. He yearns to get better. He’s not afraid to face his weaknesses on the court. So when you have that type of mindset, you’re just going to be able to take on every situation that the game brings you.”
YES, coach! Having a growth mindset means believing in one’s own ability to grow and change. It’s an understanding that you can can develop your abilities and talents through hard work, good strategies, and help from others.
And according to his coach, that mindset is one of the factors that helped Jaylen Brown earn the Most Valuable Player award in the NBA Finals last night.
Winning an NBA championship requires a team effort and Brown understands this, as evidenced by his quote: “I share this with my brothers, and my partner in crime, Jayson Tatum.” Working together and with a growth mindset, anything is possible!
Congratulations to the Boston Celtics on winning its league-leading 18th championship!
