Tip of the Week
It’s mid August and time to make a plan
With the school year inching closer, it’s time to make sure your child has a plan to finish up their summer assignments before school starts. Defining a plan for the next couple of weeks will make completing summer assignments more manageable and achievable. Use a calendar and work backwards from the first day of school to divide up any reading or writing that needs to get done. By helping your child develop a plan, you’re helping them start the school year with a clean slate and with some momentum. You’re also gaining the added benefit of giving them executive function skills practice prior to the start of school.
