Let Them Fly!

Once you’ve helped your child set up the structure to help them succeed, step back and allow them to give it a go independently. A natural instinct is to stay close and continue to offer advice each step of the way, but at some point the student needs to try it on their own. They may succeed with flying colors, or it may not go so well. Either way, we have to let our students spread their wings and try. If they are successful, their confidence will soar. If they struggle, having tried it solo they will likely be more open to accepting additional support.
