Tip of the Week
One small goal before school starts
Cover your eyes if you must, but August is here and the back-to-school horizon is coming into view! One of the best ways to head into the new year with confidence is to wrap up the summer with a win. Set one simple, attainable goal with your child to accomplish before the summer ends. Maybe it’s finishing a fun book, getting in shape for fall sports, organizing a workspace, or completing an art project. Whatever they choose, help them break it into steps and make a plan. The goal doesn’t have to be big; it has to be achievable. Reaching it gives your child a boost of confidence, a sense of ownership, and a chance to practice key executive function skills like planning, task initiation, and follow-through that they’ll carry into the school year ahead.
