Plan, Prioritize, and Estimate Time on Task

Even more so during Covid, teachers are using class websites and/or online portals (Google Classroom, Schoology, Canvas) to post nightly homework, long-term assignments, and relevant study materials. While this is an enormous help to many students, one downside of the online platform is that students are not learning how to track, organize, and manage their homework on their own. To mitigate that downside, teach your child how to use the homework platform to create a nightly agenda and a separate calendar to track long-term assignments. By doing so, students are taking ownership of their homework plan and are learning how to prioritize, estimate time on task, and manage their assignments in a more thoughtful way.
