Start at the finish

Begin with the end in mind. Before beginning a task, help your child articulate or visualize where they want to end up. When your child understands their intended destination, outcome, or finished product, it makes it easier to break down the steps necessary to get there. When they know the steps to take, the process feels less overwhelming and more manageable. And, with the end in mind and a plan in place, your child will feel more confident and prepared to get started!
