Tip of the Week

The 10-minute habit that prevents grade drops

Missing or forgetting assignments happens. The key is catching it before it snowballs.

Try a once-weekly (or even twice-weekly) portal review with your child. Sit down together and scan every class portal. Look for work that is late, incomplete, or not started.

Then, without lecturing, shift to planning. Help your child create a simple catch-up plan: Write down what needs to get done, estimate how long each task will take, and schedule it.

Doing this once or twice a week builds monitoring and self-awareness, two essential executive function skills that prevent small problems from becoming big ones.

Small check-ins now will prevent big stress later.
