A simple way to organize homework

Some students struggle to remember what to bring to and from school, and what to complete as their homework each night. A simple change to the set-up of your child’s school binders can help immensely. Have your child label the front inside pocket of his binder “Take Home,” and the very back inside pocket of his binder “Bring to School.” When he receives a worksheet or homework assignment from his teacher, he can place it in his “Take Home” pocket. And when he finishes a piece of homework and is ready to turn it in, he can return the assignment to his binder and place it in his “Bring to School” pocket. Having this simple organizational system in place will help your child practice the repetitive behaviors required to build positive habits. Soon, he will manage the transition between school and home with ease!
