An alternative to the assignment book

The traditional assignment book is often regarded as the standard for tracking one’s assignments. But if your child is not using his assignment book effectively (or at all), it’s likely that that’s not his best way of tracking homework assignments. Maybe he finds it cumbersome, in the limited time he has between classes, to pull his assignment book out of his backpack, find the right page, and jot down the homework. What would be simpler for him? Be flexible and think creatively. One option might be to create and print a weekly assignment sheet off the computer that he can staple to the front of the folder or notebook that he already has out for class. It’s easy to access and easy to come back to later on. There are many ways of approaching and solving the same problem. The key is to help your student find his best approach.
