Channel Yoda

The next time your child digs in her heels and says she can’t do something, invoke one of the teachings of the Star Wars sage, Yoda. Yoda once told Luke: “Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.” Sometimes, soft-pedaling with your child isn’t the most effective approach. Instead, steer your child away from excuses and don’t allow her to succumb to negative thinking. Encourage her to just “do” to the very best of her ability.
