Tip of the Week

Create a calendar for summer work

If your child hasn’t already done so, make sure he has a definite plan about how to accomplish any work assigned over the summer. Use a calendar and work backwards from the first day of school to divide up any reading or writing that will be due. Note any times when your family may be on vacation or he may be at sleepaway camp and unable to work as effectively. If he’s already away at camp, get right on it when he gets back. Just don’t let him save it all for the week before school!
