Create a dedicated homework folder

Students who struggle to find or turn in their homework need a system to stay organized and support their hard work. Having a separate folder, which is only used for incoming and outgoing homework, can be an excellent way to keep organizing simple and ensure homework gets turned in. Help your child pick out a method that works best for her; she might prefer a homework pocket in her accordion binder, a standard pocketed folder that she keeps in her backpack, or a specific homework section in her three ring binder. With a dedicated place to store homework, your child is more likely to put her materials where they belong, and get credit for the work she has completed.
