Every Pitch Counts

Lots has been written about the Boston Red Sox after they capped off an incredible season with a World Series victory a few weeks ago. Many of the players were asked after the series if they could identify a distinguishing attribute that made this team special. The response from player after player held a common theme: “We don’t take any pitches off. Every pitch counts.” That’s such a great lesson to share with students. If you want to “win” you need to put in the work at every opportunity. Is it realistic to think that a student will be focused 100% of the time? Of course not (even baseball players get short breaks between innings). But it’s a good mindset and objective to strive toward.
