Failure is an opportunity to grow

Our current generation of children, increasingly, fears failure. So it’s ever more important to teach your children what failure really means. Failure is an opportunity to grow, not a judgment or critique of a student’s intelligence or merits. Help your child develop a “growth mindset,” one that regards challenges as growth opportunities and lessons. Do this by encouraging and rewarding your child’s efforts, perseverance, and hard work, rather than focusing solely on his successes. Praising effort and process helps to eliminate the “fixed mindset” that sees challenges only as opportunities to fail.
