Tip of the Week

Finished? Not til you check it!

Our work is never finished until we take the time to check it. Students always need to make sure they’ve answered the question being asked and addressed the assignment in its entirety AND given their work another once-over to catch any “silly” or careless errors. If students can identify mistakes or misunderstandings before turning something in, it’s more likely they will earn a better grade and save themselves the time of having to correct or redo the work. They could also potentially save themselves some embarrassment. In late October two of Engaging Minds’ Tips went out with a spelling error in the subject line: we omitted a “c” in the month of “October.” What did we learn? We need to practice what we preach and always check our work!
