Getting “unstuck”

When your child gets stuck, the quickest and easiest way to help her get “unstuck” is to dig into the material and teach it to her. That works in the short-term, but here’s a better-for-the-long-run option: empower her to problem-solve and get unstuck on her own. Before coming to mom or dad, where else might she find some answers? Perhaps there’s useful information in her notes from class, previous homework assignments, or her textbook. Is there an online resource available, or is her teacher accessible by email? You can either “give her the fish” or you can “teach her to fish.”
