Homework doesn’t have to be a struggle every night!

Homework doesn’t have to be a struggle every night! There are many reasons why students struggle to get homework done. The key to solving the problem is to understand what’s really happening. Help your child identify the root of the issue and problem-solve from there. For example, if it all feels overwhelming and unwieldy, teach your child how to create an agenda and estimate time on task. He’ll likely find it’s not as daunting as he first imagined. If your child doesn’t understand the assignment, spend time breaking down the directions to help clarify what he needs to do. And if he knows what he has to do but can’t get started, set up a homework routine that will be consistent day to day, or model for him how you’d get started if it were your work to do.
