Let your child make mistakes

“Your best teacher is your last mistake.” Unknown As parents, teachers and tutors, one of the hardest things we have to do is to allow the children in our lives to make mistakes. We want our children to feel good about themselves and their achievements, and to see them struggling with their own limitations (perceived or real) is challenging. However, making mistakes is an important part of learning, and we rob our children of the opportunity to learn and grow from their mistakes if we don’t allow them to make them. So let your child make a few mistakes, and then let him find ways to correct them. By doing so, you will create a resilient and creative problem-solver who will confront obstacles thoughtfully and with confidence.
