Make a “preview” visit to your new school

If your child is going to be starting at a new school, make a preview visit to the school in August. Check with the teacher/administration first, then try to plan to locate your child’s classroom(s), the cafeteria, the gym and perhaps most importantly — the bathrooms! Just having this one unknown turned into a “known” will help your child feel more confident when school begins.
