My Head is Spinning! Help!

Students have been thrust into a dizzying world of online communication where they are asked to access schoolwork electronically through email, portals, apps, and websites. For many students, this represents a huge change and without in-person guidance from teachers, it has created an enormous challenge. Just figuring out what they need to do each day is overwhelming! To help your child regain control:

  1. Create a detailed list of all the online portals, apps, websites, and emails your child needs to check each day. Include direct one-click links as well as usernames and passwords. This removes the need to rely on memory and ensures that no stone will be left unturned. Build working through this list into their routine at the start of school each day.
  2. Create a spreadsheet where your child can list all the assignments and information they gather during Step 1. Again, this removes memory from the equation and puts all the information in one place. This list then acts as an agenda and they can cross off or highlight assignments as they are completed.
