Organization Requires Memory

When it is time for your child to organize her physical materials, she has to remember where to begin and the multiple steps she needs to follow to complete this task effectively. That can be a lot to remember for some students! For students who struggle a bit with working memory, try posting specific checklists somewhere visible (like in an assignment book or on the outside of binders) or employing electronic reminders/alerts. Both can be very effective strategies. Organization requires memory and a little nudge via a checklist or electronic alert may be all she needs to manage her organizational system more effectively.
