Practice being flexible

This past weekend, Hurricane Arthur forced many of us to practice an important executive function skill on the 4th of July: flexibility. Plans and routines change all the time for a variety of reasons. Use an unexpected change in a day’s activities as an opportunity to teach your child how to “go with the flow” and devise an alternative plan. This is an important life skill and a rainy summer day provides a great chance to get some extra practice.
