Regularly model using your own executive functions

Regularly model using your own executive function skills. Show your child that you expect the unexpected and can be flexible in the face of change. Model how to learn from your mistakes. Plan ahead and openly discuss schedules and changes in plans. Keep the family calendar up-to-date, and let your child help you make the changes in it as they come about. Make checklists for daily tasks. Keep an organized workspace. Children learn by watching how their parents respond to and manage certain situations, so teach by example.
