Standards for checking one’s work

Teachers always stress the importance of checking one’s work before handing in an assignment. When reviewing work, keep these three standards in mind: First, have your child determine whether or not he has answered all of the demands of the assignment. Re-read the directions or rubric carefully! Next, challenge him to find opportunities for improvement. Even minor edits/changes will improve a final grade. Then, review the assignment to catch silly mistakes. We all make them!
