The benefits of “books on tape”

For some students, reading text on a page is effortful and time-consuming. Going back and forth between the book and a page of notes can be a never-ending, disjointed process. Using an audiobook can be an excellent way to increase efficiency and reading comprehension for those students. Students that listen to “books on tape” report understanding the material better, feeling more alert, and producing better notes. Summer is an opportune time to try audiobooks under less stressful circumstances. Give it a try – it could end up making a world of difference for your child.
