The summer “brain drain” is real, but avoidable

Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. It also signifies the unofficial start of summer. It’s been a long school year, and once school is out, your child certainly deserves a break from academics. However, research has shown that students experience learning loss during summer vacation. The summer “brain drain” is very real; happily, it’s also avoidable. There’s plenty of evidence to suggest that even 3o minutes of reading, writing or math each day will make a world of difference come September. Visit our Resources page for some fun educational websites and smartphone apps to make learning fun this summer. Or, we’ll help you design an Engaging Minds summer program tailored to your child’s specific academic needs and your schedule. Happy summer!
