To Avoid “Blanking” During an Exam…

Create a “Knowledge List” at the beginning of an exam to aid working memory and boost confidence. As soon as the test begins, have your child write down important facts in the margins or on scratch paper. Include crucial formulas, dates to remember, or a list of major book characters. Having this “Knowledge List” on-hand can keep your child from second guessing her own ideas or her preparedness to take the test. And when fatigue or confusion sets in, she won’t have to recall the important information from memory. Instead, she can refer to her list as a reminder of how much she truly knows!
