Tip of the Week
Who said ‘Can’t?’ Try trying.
“This is impossible.”
“I can’t do it.”
Sometimes schoolwork can feel impossible and students believe they just can’t do it. When your child is stuck, ask them: “What can you do?” Helping students think more flexibly and try a different approach is an important executive function skill. Oftentimes, getting unstuck is simply about taking the first step, however small. Your child will soon learn that each small step builds one upon another until it eventually becomes a giant leap.
