“Lazy” is a lazy term

“Lazy” is a term we often use when we can’t explain why a student won’t/doesn’t/can’t do something. But it’s a lazy term because it doesn’t get at the real issue. @TheSwaddle recently posted an excellent article titled: Why People Living With ADHD Are Often Misjudged As ‘Lazy’. In short, what appears as lazy is far more likely to be a result of ADHD and/or executive dysfunction. Further, labelling a child lazy can be detrimental and contribute to a negative self-impression. The article is concise, clear, accessible and will give you greater insight into what your child is experiencing if they struggle with ADHD and executive function skills. We highly recommend adding this one to  your reading list!
