The intersection of ADHD and executive function

October is ADHD Awareness Month. ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, often coincides with challenges in executive function. Executive function encompasses cognitive skills like planning, organizing, task initiation, and impulse control. Deficits in these executive functions can exacerbate ADHD symptoms making it difficult to maintain attention, complete tasks, and manage time effectively. Understanding this intersection is important for educators, parents, and students as it underscores the importance of addressing executive function challenges as a part of ADHD management.

All month long we’ll be posting information on our social media pages about the intersection of ADHD and executive function, as well as tips and strategies to help. Join us this month on Facebook and Instagram! And please give us a follow while you’re there!
