Three empowering letters

Sometimes one word can change a child’s entire outlook. When your child feels stuck and expresses that they can’t do something, ask them to add the word “yet” to the end of their statement. This simple word offers a measure of hope and encouragement that they can do something, and it also acts as a call to action to keep trying. Sometimes it’s simply a matter of mindset in the way students view and then approach challenges. Adding the word “yet” is as simple as it is empowering. Try it!

“I don’t know how to do this … yet.”

“I don’t understand this … yet.”

“I’m not good at this … yet.”
