Tip of the Week

March 2, 2015

A place for everything and everything in its place

If your child struggles to keep her backpack and binders neat and organized, set a designated time each week for a “clean sweep.” Decide together which of her papers she should keep, and which ones she can toss in the recycle bin. For the papers she keeps, have your child sort her materials by subject, and place them into their designated folder, binder, or subject tab. When she has “a place for everything and everything is in its place,” she’ll be able to find whatever she needs quickly and she will feel more in control of her schoolwork and materials. This greater sense of control and organization will lead to increased confidence.
