Tip of the Week
Two questions about mistakes
Mistakes open pathways to learning. To help your child acknowledge mistakes as an opportunity to learn and do better rather than as something to be embarrassed or upset about, try asking these two questions every evening:
- What mistakes did you make today?
- What did you learn from them?
By openly discussing mistakes and making them a regular part of your conversation, you’ll normalize making mistakes and slowly erode the stigma that surrounds them. You’ll turn something commonly viewed as a negative into something far more positive.
